Time Flies By.......

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS!!!!! It seems like yesterday that I was pregnant and anticipating the arrival of Miss Presley. So much has happened since my last post...we are loving summer time and I am so glad that I have been able to stay home and enjoy all these special moments. Presley is growing like a weed and getting bigger and bigger every day. It seems like she does something new each day. She weighs about 13 lbs and is about 24 inches long. These were her stats at her 2 month appt.....she is in the 90th percentile!!!!!!!!!!! The next time we go the doctor said she needs to be really "filled out and rolley"...I don't think we will have a problem with that :-)

Here is what she is up too lately:
-really smiling...its sooooo cute! Her whole face lights up

-laughing a little...it's really like a chuckle
-talking all the time and even throws out a scream every now and then

-can focus on me when I talk to her and follows my voice with her eyes
-LOVES to read books (and most of the time she will actually "act" like she is paying attention)
-enjoys tummy time and is great at raising her head up and getting her arms underneath her...we are almost rolling over :-)
-LOVES to watch T.V...not sure if that is something to be proud of?????

-still sleeping through the night in her crib...usually from 9:30-6:30!!!!!!!
-likes to be outside

-not so sure about the pool...sometimes she likes it and sometimes she screams!

-LOVES to wake up and want to be held ANY time mommy and daddy are sitting down to eat or when we are trying to rest...sheesh
-is starting to reach out and grab her toys

-is taking about 5 1/2 ounces during the day and 6 ounces for her evening feedings

-HAS NO IDEA HOW MUCH HER MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to cherish each moment with Presley because I know summer will be over soon and that means I have to go back to work :-(. I really do love what I do and already miss all my teacher friends so much BUT I know it is going to be hard to leave her at daycare once I start back *sniff sniff* Everyone assures me that it will be ok but I have a hard time believeing that...I guess we will all get through it though! Josh and I are hoping to sneak away towards the end of July to spend some time together before I go back so I am looking forward to that!!!

One Proud Momma!!!

Yeah thats right....I am sooo proud of Presley because she is finally sleeping through the night in her crib!!!!!! This has been something that I wasn't sure I was ready for but now I am so glad we went on ahead and tried it. She does have a hard time going down at first but after she gets all her fusses out, she sleeps so well...most nights from 10-6 (occasionally she will wake up around 4). Josh and I love it that we are finally getting more sleep!!!!

Its hard to believe that Presley is already 2 months old. She is getting so big and I think she is forming her own little personality. We did have to change up her formula and I have been able to see such a big difference...she seems so much happier and doesn't seem to fuss as much in between and after her feedings!!! We go to the doctor in a few weeks and I will give more of an update on her weight/height then. She will also get her first round of shots then which we are NOT looking forward to.

There really isn't any more news to report....just soooooo glad that summer is here. I am looking forward to having a GREAT summer with Presley and Josh. We are making our first LONG road trip with Presley to Austin next weekend for a wedding and it will be fun to see old friends again!!! HAPPY SUMMER TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 Month.....

Where has the time gone....my baby turned 1 month old this past week and I can't believe it!! She has changed so much in the past month and I can't believe how much she has grown. Here are some updates on Miss Presley...

-Out are the newborn clothes and diapers :-( She wears size 0-3 months in clothes and size 1 in diapers

-She is so alert these days(especially after her feedings). She keeps her eyes open and tries to focus on things in front of her.

-She LOVES to lift her head..it's still a little wobbly but she tries soooo hard to keep it up. It's so cute to watch her do this :-)

-She LOVES her activity play mat. She will focus on the toys hanging from it and loves the music. I love to sit on the floor with her and play!

-She gets frustrated when she sneezes...I think this is kinda funny because she will let out a little scream after each sneeze like it makes her mad or something.

-She loves to coo and grunt...even in her sleep she will do this

-She DOES NOT like to get dressed...or maybe I am still not the best at pulling stuff over her head???

-She is a little dramatic (if you can't tell by reading any of these) haha..wonder where she gets that from???

-She is sleeping better through the night...most nights we just wake up once in the middle of the night and then once around 6 or 7 in the morning :-)

-She can easily eat 3.5-4 ounces each feeding depending on her mood (and sometimes more)

-She still melts my heart every day and I just can't get enough of her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 Week Update and Newborn Pics!!

I was so excited to get Presley's newborn pictures done. Christiane came to our house and we took some pictures in her nursery and around our house. I tries to time Presleys feeding perfectly so that she would sleep during her photo shoot but.................THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!! She was wide awake and was not thrilled about getting her picture taken. After much calming down and a warm bottle...life was good and we were able to get some adorable pictures.
We are trying to keep Presley on a steady schedule...some days are better than others but I think she is doing pretty good. We are sleeping a little bit more during the night waking up at 2 and 5 during the night...last night she slept through her 5:00 feeding!!!!!!!! She is still eating a ton, usually 3-4 ounces every 3 hours and she is already weighing in at 8.6 pounds. I can't believe how much she changes every day. Her little face is filling out and I think she is even starting to get little fat rolls on her arms and legs...so cute!!!! I really can't believe she is 3 weeks old today. Time is already flying by :-( We love her more and more every day and I am enjoying all the time that I get to spend with her during the day. Our Little Glow Worm

This past week has been a little rough on us. Presley had a little bit of jaundice at the hospital but we were told to get her in the sun as much as possible at home and it should get better. Well, we went for our 1 week appointment and the jaundice had definately gotten worse....we had a very yellow baby :-( Long story short, Presley had to be put on phototherapy which is where she would stay on a bed that looks much like a small tanning bed all day and all night. This was so hard for Josh and I because we couold not hold her at all unless it was to feed/change her until her levels went down. After many tears, I realized that this was not the end of the world and was hoping that the next few days would go by fast so I could snuggle with her again soon. Luckily, after day 3 of being under the light, sweet Presley's levels had gone down enough to take her off ...YEA!!!! I couldn't wait to put her in her cute clothes again and love all over her. The past two days she has been doing so much better and seems more alert and eating SOOOOO much. I think she is going through a growth spurt right now!!! Josh and I are having so much fun being parents and can't get enough of this sweet little girl :-) Here are some pics of our little glow worm!!!!

Presley's First Easter

It has been such a wonderful Easter...I feel so blessed!!! This is just a quick post to show you how precious our little Presley is. I can't explain the love we have for this precious little girl!!!!!!

SURPRISE!!!!!!!

The past few days have almost been a blur for us...everything has happened soooo fast!! Let me back track a little for you. Tuesday morning I was excited to get to sleep in and get some last minute things done because I have been a bit of a procrastionator lately!! I was feeling great and REALLY getting nervous about Friday because my doctor decided that I would be induced on April 2. After enjoying a lunch at McAlisters(one of my favorits) with a good friend, I was walking back to my car and IT HAPPENED.....MY WATER BROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was trying to stay calm but I was actually freaking out totally!!! Josh and I decided that we would go to the doctors office and they immediately sent us to the hospital saying, "your going to have a baby today!" We arrived at 1:30 and at 6:42 our little angel was born. The experience of giving birth to our daughter was breath taking...I can't even explain what it feels like to look at and hold your baby for the first time. Presley weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 21 inches long...she was PERFECT!!! She is doing great and we are loving being home with her. I wanted to share a couple of pictures so you can see how beautiful she is ;-) As we get settled I will post more pictures and stories but until then....ENJOY!!!!

Spring Break...Where have you gone????

Well I must say, this week FLEW by...as I knew it would. I had a long list of things that I wanted to get done over Spring Break and I got almost all of them accomplished!! YEA! It has been so nice to get all the last minute things done in the nursery, get thank yous written, make phone calls to doctors and daycare, get bags packed, eat lunch with Josh EVERYDAY, and just be able to relax and stay in my pjs till noon :-) I loved every minute of it!! I can actually say that we are ready (or at least we think we are) for this sweet little baby to get here.


I am anxious for our doctors appointment tomorrow and hope leave with a better idea of when she will be here. Last appointment, he discussed with us about the possibility of inducing a week early???? Hopefully that is still the plan. We also have our first class tomorrow...breast feeding!!! Ha...I'm sure Josh is thrilled but I am actually looking forward to it since I know NOTHING about this.

I will keep you posted on any news from our appointment tomorrow and wanted to leave you today with some pictures of Presley's FINISHED nursery...It feels so good to say that!

Here we go.....

Well I decided that it was time to start blogging. Many of my friends have the cutest blogs ever and I always say that I want to start one so...here we go!! I am really going to try and keep it updated, especially since I will have so many fun stories to share with you once Presley gets here! I am still learning so bear with me.

I thought I would start this journey by sharing some of our maternity pictures with you. We had so much fun taking them and our photographer Christiane Wheatly does amazing work...I can't wait for her to take some newborn pictures of Miss Presley. My tummy has really gotten BIG and I am very ready for her to make her entrance into this world. She is measuring big so I am not sure if we will make it to the 12th...I HOPE NOT!!!!!! We go to the doctor on Monday so maybe we will know more then. I hope you enjoy the maternity pics and I am going to post pictures of her nursery soon!!
